Fake Contraception Outrage: All Aboard the Crazy Train

Presidential Politics is where crazy meets absurd.  Never are the lies, distortions, and fake outrage more prevalent than during a presidential campaign.  We are seeing a classic example of fake outrage currently with the new health care contraception rules. First, lets get this out of the way… Obama is set to deliver an address on the issue to attempt to chill everyone out.

According to The Associated Press, women will still get guaranteed access to birth control without co-pays or premiums no matter where they work, a provision of Obama’s health care law that he insisted must remain.

But religious universities and hospitals that see contraception as an unconscionable violation of their faith can refuse to cover it, and insurance companies will then have to step in to do so.

So that’s that…outrage over right?  Doubt it and here is why:

Republicans only have 1 bullet left in hopes of defeating Obama, the Culture War.  The economy is picking up steam, jobless claims are falling, job markets improving, auto industry booming, new mortgage deal signed.  That was their one hope and its fading.  In 2004 GW Bush used the Culture War to a small degree but it was National Defense and scaring the bejeezus out of us that was the real winner.  Obama has a great national defense record though.  He kills pirates,  eliminates Osama, is tough on Iran, helped liberate Libya, etc etc.

So its the Culture War they are shifting to.  We will hear claims that Obama has a war on Faith at minimum, and that he is Satan Himself at the extreme.  Stay tuned the Christian Conservative train is loaded up and on its way to crazy town.  Cue up Ozzy’s Crazy train:

Ive listened to preachers
Ive listened to fools
Ive watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role

The Media is selling the fake outrage, don’t listen to the Preachers (Media) or the Fools (Republican presidential hopefuls and the Christian Conservatives)…
